Date Night
It’s date night tonight. That’s the name Ash I give to nights we don’t have the kids. Well, we’ll have Charlie of course but he doesn’t take up much room and doesn’t mind it when Daddy implements his date night ‘pants-off’ policy. I think we’ll order in, maybe some chinese food, some fizzy drink and an episode of ‘QI’, our favourite game show. We’re up to ‘G’ series now as we download episodes from the U.K. Tonight is ‘gallimaufry’ which means a hotchpotch. Check it out if you haven’t already, Stephen Fry is wonderful.
The teenagers are away, camping in the valley and Maxie’s off to the beach with his Nana and Pop for a couple of days. Its a gorgeous day so we’ll probably take Charlie out for a stroll in his pram to have coffee in the village and then head down to the duckpond. There’s lots of ducklings down there at the moment and I want to abduct them but Ash won’t let me, so I’ll just have to content myself with looking at their fluffy cuteness instead.
We’re thinking about getting ducks or chickens to keep the snails and slugs down in our vegie garden, but we’ll also love having them run around and watching their funny little individual personalities emerge. There’s something quite comical about them I think.
Anyhoo, hope you’re all well and having lovely days too.
With or without your pants on.

I can totally vouch for chickens in the garden – they're awesomely fun – but not if you value your garden (they trash it)!

Good point, the thing with ducks is having fresh water for them every day, gotta find an old bath to sink in the ground or something…
